What is a wither height and how do I measure this?

A dogs wither is the height from the ground to the height part of your dog's back when they're standing with all four paws on the floor. I would suggest using a tape measure from the ground to the upper shoulder when in a relaxed standing position.

The wither height is NOT the height of the feeder. I will take your dog's wither height and create a feeder that is perfectly suited to your dog so they can eat in a relaxed position. This tends to be approximately 6 inches (15 cm) below the wither height.

What bowl size should I choose?

Unfortunately, there is no right answer to this, as it really depends on your dog. We would suggest looking at the size bowl you use at the moment and go from there.

Here is some guidance, but if you are unsure, we would suggest Whatsapping us a photo of your dog and their current bowls and we can make a recommendation…

Small/Medium:
Yorkshire Terrier, Pekinese, Chihuahua, Papillon, Jack Russell Terrier, Maltese, Working Cocker Spaniel, Labradoodle, Cockapoo, Bolonka, Medium Poodle, Beagle, Pomeranian.

Large:
Border Collie, Standard Poodle, Kelpie, Schnauzer, Greyhound, Labrador, Dalmatian, Golden Retriever, Bernese Mountain Dog, Irish Wolfhound, Great Dane, Leonberger, Newfoundland.

What colours are available?

What stain should I choose for the oak base?

Generally we recommend, natural oak for most feeders as it has a more natural feel. We would suggest you consider what other tones you have in your kitchen/interior. Dark oak can enhance deeper/richer colours. You are more than welcome to drop us a whatsapp if you would like to discuss further.

Is the product finish safe for my dog?

Yes, the product is entirely finished with the highest quality hard wax oil, which is a blend of natural oils & waxes offering exceptional durability & resistance. The product we use is graded food safe, suitable for application onto children’s toys (EN 71-Toy Safety Certification), resistant to liquids (tested in accordance with BS 3900 G5) and resistant to wear (tested in accordance with BS3900 E15).

What is the feeder made from?

We use only the highest quality, sustainably sourced wood for the feeders. The legs  and back splash are all made from Pine, and the main base is made from Oak.

How long does it take to arrive?

Every feeder is hand made to order and therefore lead times can vary depending on demand (or if we are on holiday). Usually we would aim to have your dogs feeder arriving at your door within 2 weeks.

I have two dogs - what would you recommend?

Accepted Answer

If you have two dogs of a similar height, we would be happy to make you something even more bespoke.  You could consider having two feeding bowls, with a larger (shared) water bowl in between. And yes, you can have two names on the feeder.

This option is priced at £300.

If you have two dogs of completely different sizes, you may wish to consider having two separate feeders.

Question 9

How do I clean/care for my dog's feeder?

Care instructions will be included with any purchase. It is important not to use harsh chemical products on your feeder - this will damage the wood finish/paint and it not healthy for your furry friend. Feel free to get in touch if you need more advice.

Can I return my feeder?

Accepted Answer

If the feeder has been damaged in delivery, please do get in touch with a photo and we would be more than happy to offer a refund or send you a replacement.

Unfortunately, as the feeders are made to order and specifically for your dog, we are unable to offer returns for any other reason. Fortunately, feedback to date has been overwhelming positive so we are confident you will have no need for returns.

I have lost my stainless steel bowls...
